#save the left

The left, is so often preoccupied with saving things; like the environment and endangered animals that it may not have noticed it now needs to save something else from the brink of extinction. Itself.

Like the red eyed tree frog and the giant otter many of the more interesting political specimens that inhabited the political biosphere like the Liberal Democrat and the left wing activist are now an endangered species.

Like the amazonian rainforest, the political ecosystem seems unable to sustain its diversity due to the unrelenting ravages of global capitalism. If this diversity is not maintained, it seems we risk becoming a fascist, political monoculture and for more interesting political voices to become extinct.

Such is the plight of the lesser spotted leftist. Which will be the focus of this article. (The Liberal Democrat’s have only themselves to blame for their demise, so they will have to save themselves. Maybe they could find a campaign group to help them. Amnesty love patronising lost causes)…

The plight of the lesser spotted leftist…

In previous decades this species was plentiful and found in it’s natural habitat of collieries, working men’s clubs and non industry focused degree courses. However this habit has been eroded over the last half century by capitalism and the territorial ambitions of the predatory political species that profit from it. This has meant this once common species and its influence, is now in decline.

This decline has been exacerbated by an introduction of a new species of ‘leftist’ the ‘Orator Identitarem’ or ‘identity politician’.

Much like the grey squirrel, this seemingly innocuous species has colonised areas formally inhabited by the indigenous red.

Although similar in appearance there are clear differences in the focus and agenda of these two groups.

As a result all of the discourse in the area of the political biosphere they cohabit has become centred around issues of gender and sexuality and identity which obscure traditional left wing concerns; like class politics and curbing the political excesses of the right. As a result the political biosphere has lost much of its diversity and has become overrun with far right predators

In the political biosphere, as in the environmental one, there has been an increase in vermin and predators. Just like in degraded environmental spheres, like the urban environment where rats and pigeons dominate, in the political sphere there has been exponential increase in the population of those promoting an aggressive right or far right ideology. Political vermin. This is because this type of unwanted and aggressive political scavenger is best adapted to survival in an inhospitable political climate.

In order to rebalance the political ecosystem it is important to increase the numbers of left wingers as it is this species that keep the more aggressive and predatory right in check.

If you want to encourage more leftists to your area to deal with predators and vermin it is useful to not to starve them of oxygen. Allow them to coexist in liberal spaces and be more tolerant towards them and their opinions. It is worth being more adventurous with your political palette and entertaining opinions that maybe different to your own.

If you do this they will add a rational and authentic dimension to the political debate which will help dispel predators as they feed on toxicity, fear and lies .

This will in term reinvigorate increasingly monocultural and fascist political biosphere and ensure a healthy and diverse political spectrum for future generations to share and enjoy.

Also this species needs a little ‘me time’ to focus on itself a little more and regroup and it’ll be fine. And if you give them all your money, in a direct debit, every month.
